Course description |
Physical Chemistry is a subject that enables students to understand the physical properties of materials, represented by their basic electrical and magnetic properties. This course is classified as "Special Subjects I" of "Special Subjects" in the curriculum of the Department of Applied Chemistry, and its purpose is to provide students with applied knowledge in this field. |
Expected Learning |
After taking this course, you will be able to understand the crystal lattice, specific heat, electronic conductivity, semiconductor and dielectric. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps. |
Course schedule |
1. guidance, introduction of physical chemistry 2. electronic Orbitals 3. crystal lattice I 4. crystal lattice II, diffraction effect 5. crystal lattice defect 6. conductivity I 7. conductivity II 8. semiconductor 9. transistor 10. magnetic properties I 11. magnetic properties II 12. magnetic properties III 13. superconductor 14. dielectric properties 15. Summary of the 2th to14th lectures final examination |
Prerequisites |
It is desirable to attend physical Chemistry I and II.In addition to the time in the lecture and for preparation , students are recommended to spend the standard amount of time as specified by the university on self-learning. |

Assessment/Grading |
Exercise points: 10% for submission of exercises. The Exercise points will be based on the understanding of the various formulas and their meanings. Final exam (in the 15th session) 90%. Points for evaluation are the ability to explain the physical properties of dielectric materials and magnetic materials. Students will be explained on their understanding of crystal lattices and their measurement methods, electronic state of solids, electrical conduction in metals, and physical properties of semiconductors. The evaluation will be based on the above these information of scores. |
