Course description
Drawing is one of the important communication tools to transfer the engineers design results and intensions, such as fabricated parts details, assembly notes and user instructions to fabricators and users. This course teaches the rules of Mechanical Drawings, PFD and P&ID and provides CAD drawing practice for Students well-understanding.
・ CAD:  Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD will be used)
・ PFD:  Process Flow Diagram
・ P&ID: Piping & Instrument Diagram
Expected Learning
(1) To understand drafting rules for mechanical Drawing
(2) To understand and prepare Equipment Conceptual drawings
(3) To understand and prepare Process Flow Diagram and Piping & Instrument Diagram for Process Plant
Course schedule
The course consists of lectures and trainings. Studies for term of classes are the rules for Mechanical drawing for the first half and the preparation of Equipment drawing, PFD and P&ID for the second half.

Assessment/Grading
- Normal score in each class 30%:
Submission and evaluation of quizzes to confirm understanding of the lecture. Participation and discussion in lectures.

- Submission of drafting exercises during lectures 20%:
Submission of drafting exercises based on the content of the lecture.

- Evaluation of submitted drawings 50%:
Score and evaluate the contents of the drawings. The evaluation procedure is the degree of understanding of drafting rules and the degree of completion of drawings.

The grades will be evaluated by scoring the above on a total scale of 100 points.
No test is conducted.
