Course description
Gas turbine is an engine system which is used for large scale power plants, small emergency electric power generators, jet engines, and so on. It is indispensable for our daily life but is not usually witnessed. It is full of the state-of-the-art mechanical technologies and can be produced only by the manufacturers in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. This course will help acquiring the technological knowledges on gas turbines as well as understanding the energy and environmental issues.
Expected Learning
(1) Have students understood the characteristics, mechanical configurations, and theoretical and technological knowledge of gas turbines?
(2) Can students explain the needs in the society, energy situations, and environmental issues on gas turbines?
