Course description
Microscopic understanding of the properties of materials (response to mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and optical excitations) requires knowledge of mechanics, electromagnetism, thermostatistical mechanics, and quantum mechanics, which have been studied in the past, as well as the knowledge that integrates them.
In the lectures on Electronic Properties of Materials, you learn the basic knowledge necessary to understand the properties of materials based on your previous knowledge.
In order to understand the conductivity and magnetism of solid materials in detail, it is necessary to understand the behavior of electrons in materials, and the knowledge you learn in this lecture is the foundation for this.

Expected Learning
Students are expected to understand and explain the following
(1) the concept of reciprocal lattice space; and
(2) Principles of crystal structure analysis of solids, and
(3) lattice vibrations of solids, and
(4) Free electron model in solids.
