Course description
This lecture consist of two lectures by Prof. Komatsuzaki(Ibaraki University) and by Dr.Fujii(Forest Research and Management Organization)
This lecture is the professional subject of the biological-production science course.

The lecture by Prof. Komatsuzaki:
Understand the material cycle process in various crop cultivation systems.
It also aims to acquire the knowledge to think for yourself about the problems and issues that arise as a result of the material cycle process

The lecture by Dr.Fujii:
In the class, students can learn soil processes (soil genesis, biology, and physicochemical properties), mechanisms of soil degradation, and sustainable soil management to mitigate soil degradation and produce foods from garden scale to farm scale.

This lecture is special lecture of the Department of Science of Biological Production.

The lecture by Prof. Komatsuzaki:
Understand the basic theory of the nutrient cycle process in agricultural land, and then explain the material cycle process and the problems that occur in various crop cultivation systems.

The lecture by Dr. Fujii:
1. Understanding of the differences between soils and rocks
2. Understanding of the roles of soils in food production and nutrient cycles
3. Understanding of soil degradation and sustainable soil management
