Course description |
This lecture consist of two lectures by Assoc. Prof. Kato (Tokyo University) and by Prof. Koizuka ((Tamagawa Univ.)) on 2nd semester. This lecture is the professional subject of the biological-production science course. The lecture by Assoc. Prof. Sugano: The title of this lecture is “The molecular mechanism of floral development in higher plants.” The aim of this lecture is to understand how we can explain the floral structures with molecular biological approach. The lecture by Prof. Koizuka: The crosstalk between nuclear and organelle genome in higher plants. |

Course schedule |
The lecture by Assoc. Prof. Sugano: Schedule: 9/3 Classroom: 6-209 1.Introduction: Floral structure and floral ABC model 2.How we can explain the floral structures? 1)Dicot flowers 2)Monocot flowers (lily and tulip) 3)Monocot flowers (orchid) 3.Gene duplication and floral evolution The lecture by Prof. Koizuka: Schedule: 9/2 Classroom: 6-209 This class focuses on the genome structure and regulation of gene expression on plant mitochondria and chloroplast, especially recent progress in cytoplasmic male sterility and fertility restoration. In addition, recent findings on DNA repair mechanisms and genome editing in higher plants are summarized to discuss perspective for plant science and breeding. |
