Course description |
The purpose of this lecture is to provide students with know-how of instruction of environmental education for early childhood, elementary students, high school students and citizens (adult) suitable for developmental stage level, including professional development of Project WILD "K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide", "Aquatic K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide", "Growing Up WILD" and "Science & Civics". |

Learning of basics and methods of environmental education for early childhood, elementary school students. Learning basics and methods of instruction on environmental practices for high school students and citizens. Course schedule |
Leadership training for educator of Project WILD, including structures of cooperative learning, hands on learning, activities of environmental education and project based learning. 5 day curriculum. Each day 10:30 - 14:15. 1 day 1) Orientation, Theory of environmental education, hands on learning and cooperative learning. 2) Method of cooperative learning. 3) Environmental education in formal and unformal education. 2 day 4) Activities of Project Wild. 5) Interpretation at elementary school. 6) Planning of program for elementary school students. 3 day 7 - 9) Practice at a elementary school. 4 day 10) Activities of Growing Up WILD. 11) Method of interpretation for early childhood. 12) Practice of Growing Up WILD. 5 day 13) Science & civics, Participatory Democracy. 14) Habitat Exploration. 15) Taking Action, Final examination. |
Prerequisites |
This lecture is an elective subject, and is one of the specialized subjects. Students need to preview and review for an amount of time as indicated in the student guidelines of TUAT, in addition to the attendance of lecture (8 hours). |
