Course description
Among ethical issues surrounding veterinary research and responses against such ethical issues, give lecture especially on fundamental issues related to research ethics such as compliance, and on the problems faced at studies using laboratory and industrial animals and their solution.
Expected Learning
Lecture on ethical issues surrounding veterinary research and response to problems. The goal is to understand ethical issues mainly on laboratory and industrial animals and to understand precise response methods.

Course schedule
The 1st: Basic of Research Ethics (Laboratory Animals / Industrial Animals)
The second: Agricultural and livestock industry and science and technology
The 3rd: Research and animal welfare
The 4th: Basics of animal experiments
Fifth: Ethical problems in industrial animals (cattle, pigs, chickens)
Sixth: Ethical problems in industrial animals (horses)
The seventh: research and intellectual property rights
Eighth: Practice of research ethics (laboratory animals / industrial animals)
Prerequisites
This lecture is a common basic lecture and a compulsory subject of cooperative division of veterinary sciences.
In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below.
