Tuesday 3 Google Classroom Class Code kbzbhx7 In this course, we learn how to 'read', that is, 'interpret' images by analyzing films. After looking through the history of films briefly, we will compare several films based on Shakespeare’s dramas. The main text we discuss will be _Hamlet_. | Expected Learning |

By comparing films with drama texts as well as with stage performances, students can learn how to understand moving images from various points of view, and thus understand how technology is related with other fields especially with cultures of the time. The cultivation of the ability to examine matters from different angles is also expected. See the curriculum maps. |

Reaction papers, short papers, mini quizzes, etc(30%): Participation in class activities, and basic knowledge about filming and staging are evaluated. Final Report(70%): Students are assessed on their understanding about filming and staging, and on their own idea on the filmed dramas as well as the relation between technology and culture. |
