Course description |
Cells, both as an individual or as a population, are known to play a major role in the healthy or diseased state of living organisms. In this lecture, covering topics related to microorganisms to mammalian cells, students will learn on the recent technologies employed to elucidate and understand the role of cells within living organisms. Open discussions will also be conducted for further understanding. |
Expected Learning |
In this lecture, students will learn 1) the basics on the role and interaction mechanisms of cells and 2) the recent technologies employed to analyze or understand these mechanisms. The knowledge attained here will allow students to be critical thinkers for scientific based open discussions. |

Lectures for this course will be conducted by the designated lecturers or invited speakers who are experts in the field. The major topics to be covered in this course is a below: *Introduction to Cellular Analysis *Current technologies on the detection and elucidating the role of microorganisms *Recent technologies on bacteria detection and analysis *Recent technologies on eukaryotic microbe detection and analysis |
Prerequisites |
Students need to have basic knowledge related to gene engineering, molecular biology and cell biology. Students who have credits from the molecular biology course are encouraged to participate. In addition to the 30 hours of in class lecture, students are encouraged to do additional studies on their own to further understand the contents of the course. |
