Course description
Conduct in intensive lecture form. We will consider the actual conditions of museum activities and operations in Japan through comparison with overseas museum activities. Specifically, the history and concept of the introduction of museum management theory, administrative and financial theory, the way of facilities and equipment, staff theory, museum management, museum ethics, crisis management, public relations marketing way of thinking, cooperation between museums and citizens (different Industry exchange)
To learn about the activities of the school including the issue submission.

Facility maintenance and communication between staff members performed behind the scenes of the museum, external information dissemination through exhibition activities, etc.
Think of activities in terms of museum management. Based on the current situation of Japanese museums that require museum management theory as a current issue, I would like to show a future outlook. At the same time, develop basic management skills for students who aim to be curators.
Course schedule
It will be conducted in an intensive lecture format. The goal of this course is to learn about the form and activities of museums and to develop basic skills in management. Along the way, we will have several discussions.

・ What is museum management? In addition to the guidance, clarify the significance of museum management.
・ The present condition of today's museum. By looking at the current situation, we will provide an overview of the future of museum management.
・ Human resources of the museum. Identify the relationship between the curator and the people who support the museum.
・ Museum facilities and equipment. Organize the main in-house facilities and learn about the features and activities of the hall.
・ Financial system and finance 1 National Museum. Discuss the efforts of the National Hall from becoming an independent administrative corporation.
・ Public finance system and finance 2 public museum. Understand the structure and issues of the designated manager system.
・ Public finance system and finance 3 private museums. Understand various forms of operation other than public and public.
・ Museum abroad. From the comparison with the Japanese museum, we grasp the actual condition of the modern museum.
・ Museum marketing. Discuss how public relations and museum shop management should be.
・ Museum risk management. Learn how the museum responded to the earthquake and various crisis management.
・ Museum ethics. Understand the code of conduct as a library and staff.
・ The mission, plan and evaluation of museum management. Identify the mission and method of evaluation in museum management.
・ Museum cooperation. Explain what kind of network is created with other buildings and other institutions.
・ Cooperation with the local community. We introduce various approaches of civic participation such as meeting of friend and volunteer.
・ Summary-You can explain the museum management in your own words and consider current issues.
