Course description |
Understand about agricultural villages and communities that play a central role in wildlife management, and the mechanisms for maintaining agriculture and bearers. After that, learn the causes of damage and Conflict caused by wildlife and how to solve problems. Based on these, practice about planning, communication, and consensus building methods to promote community-based wildlife-manejement in order to solve local wildlife problems. |
Expected Learning |
Students need to gain ability as follows: ① Understand about agricultural villages and communities that play a central role in wildlife management, and the mechanisms for maintaining agriculture and bearers. In addition, Be able to practice the causes of damage and conflict caused by wildlife and how to solve problems ② Understand and practice the methods of planning, communication, and consensus building to promote community-based wildlife-management in order to solve local wildlife problems. |

Prerequisites |
Students need to complete the Special Lecture on Agriculture Ⅰ “Community Participatory Planning Method” and II “Wildlife Conservation and Management; Wildlife Damage Management; Nature Conservation and Natural Resource Management; Laws and regulations, policy on wildlife management”. Students also need to get the accident and the compensation insurances. |

Remarks 1 |
1) This exercise will be carried out at two days and one night at Tamba City, Hyogo, in November, 2022 (Students need to pay the transportation and accommodation fees). 2) The applicant survey will be done between Oct 3rd and Oct. 7th at the classroom. If the applicants are over the capacity, the participants will be decided by lottery. 3) Details are shown in the guidance through the classroom. |
