Course description |
Based on biological experiment, chemical experiment, and basics of biological production experiment, further technical analysis and observation on the technical fields of production environment science, plant production science and animal / insect production science will be performed. This subject is positioned as a common subject in the Department of Biological Production. |

1. Guidance 2. Extraction of plant pigments and observation of plant cells I 3. Extraction of plant pigments and observation of plant cells II 4. Genetic diagnosis in small samples 5. Quantification of a macronutrient and a low molecular compound in a plant I 6. Quantification of a macronutrient and a low molecular compound in a plant II 7. Quantification of a macronutrient and a low molecular compound in a plant III 8. Cultivation of soil microorganisms 9. Observation of soil microorganisms 10. Glycochemistry of mucopolysaccharide 11. Immunochemistry of mucin-related protein 12. Introduction of the gene into E. coli cells by heat shock method 13. PCR amplification of the transgene and introduction of the gene into plant cells using Agrobacterium 14. Electrophoresis of PCR amplification products and detection of transformed callus by GUS assay 15. Summary of the experiments Schedule is subject to change. |
Prerequisites |
In addition to 75 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below. |

Assessment/Grading |
Learning attitude (10点), and papers and exams (10点) will be scored by the teacher for each experiment, and it will be totaled and evaluated (Total 20点). If the number of attendances does not reach 80% of the total number of experiments, the evaluation will be D. Questions are designed to assess the understanding of and the ability to explain the topics dealt in the lectures. |
