Course description |
This is a part of the Courses of Animal Production Science in the Department of Biological Production. In this course, students will learn the importance and necessity of livestock health administration, breeding environment, prevention and control of diseases, and understand the basic measures to control diseases based on relevant laws and regulations in order to obtain safe livestock products by raising industrial animals in a healthy manner while ensuring productivity based on the concept of animal welfare. In addition, students will understand the care and management of companion animals, exhibition animals, special-purpose livestock, and service animals. The teacher in charge of this course has practical experience as a chief farm HACCP examiner and JGAP instructor, and has written a disinfection handbook for the livestock sector and a manual for enhancing biosecurity on livestock farms. |
Expected Learning |
Understand and can practice the methods and strategies for animal health at farm level, including keeping production animals in healthy condition and establishment “Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point” system at farms. Prerequisites |
Students are required to learn a class using lecture materials and prints before and after the class. In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below. |
