Course description |
Summary: In plant physiology, "Teitz-Zyger Plant Physiology 3rd Edition" and " Plant Biology, Garland Science" is used as reference books. |
Expected Learning |
In plant physiology, we aim to understand physiological phenomena such as photosynthesis, respiration, flowering regulation, environmental stress response, metabolism etc. at the molecular level. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma policy: See the curriculum maps. https://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife_career/campuslife/policy/ |
Course schedule |
Course content 1. Photosynthesis I: Photochemical reaction 2. Photosynthesis II: carbon reduction reaction. Biosynthesis of carbohydrates by photosynthesis. 3. Transport of water and minerals 4. Plant nutrition and membrane transport 5. Response of plants to environmental stress 6. Photomorphogenesis, phytochrome and blue-light receptor 7. flowering: light circumference (day length measurement), circadian clock (circadian rhythm) 8. Flower morphogenesis: transcription factors, ABC model 9. Plant gene expression 10. Epigenetics, vernalization 11. Chloroplast, mitochondria and protein transport 12. Totipotency and transgenic plants 13. Plant hormones I: auxin, cytokinin and gibberellin 14. Plant hormones II: brassinosteroid, ethylene and strigolactone 15. Plant hormones III:abscisic acid, salicylate and jasmonate |
