Course description
In this course, students will be presented essential chemical experiments in the field of of environment and natural resource science.
Expected Learning
Students are required to learn fundamental theory and techniques in chemical experiments relevant to environment and natural resource science.

Corresponding criteria in the Diploma policy: See the curriculum maps. https://www.tuat.ac.jp/campuslife_career/campuslife/policy/
Course schedule
You will learn the following eight themes.

1. Quantitative Analysis of Aquatic Molecular Oxygen in Environment
2. Quantitative Analysis of Synthetic Surfactants by Means of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography
3. Quantitative Analysis of Inorganic Phosphates in Environment
4. Organic Photochemistry in Environment
5. Preparation and Property of Fibrous Polymers
6. Adsorption on Solid Surface
7. Phytochemistry I (Isolation and Quantification of Woody Components)
8. Phytochemistry II (Chemical Modification of Woody Components)
9. Photocatalysis (Decomposition of organic chemicals)

Some of the contents will be replaced with those in the experiment book purchased in the first year, and chapters 8 and 9 will be new topics. The experimental procedures will be distributed in PDF format before the class starts.
Prerequisites
Students should take successfully "Fundamental Experiment on Chemistry" in general education.
