Course description
The space including forests, rural areas, rice fields, cities, etc. is defined as one continuous "region" where animals and plants live, humans carry out production activities, and society is formed according to the natural environment. The purpose of this course is to explain the mechanism of the ecosystem, including human society, and to provide an overview of human activities and technologies that are sustainable and in harmony with the environment. This class is designed to support students in choosing a research theme for their graduation research.
Expected Learning
Learn about the various research areas of ecoregion science and orient yourself to your own field of expertise.

Course schedule
Students will participate in at least four seminars held by the faculty members of the department to understand the activities of all the faculty members based on the philosophy of the department.
The detailed course schedule will be announced at the first class.
Prerequisites
At least 56 credits in total: 11 credits in Liberal Arts, 16 credits in Common Undergraduate Courses of the faculty, 7 credits in Common Undergraduate Courses of the department (from required courses other than Information Processing), and 22 credits in Specialized Undergraduate Courses of the department.

The number of required study hours is equivalent to the standard number of hours of the university.

Assessment/Grading
Students will select four of the seminars they attended and submit a report (for four seminars) on the issues presented in the seminars. The evaluation will be used as the grade (100%).
