Course description |
This course discusses the broad spectrum of food and environmental issues that the world is currently faced with. The course is composed of two sections (15 weeks in total). The first section provides the current situations and challenges of food issues, while the second section explores those of environmental issues. This course is offered as one of the Humanities and Social Sciences courses of the Global Liberal Arts Studies. |
Expected Learning |
The goal of this course is to understand contemporary situation of food and environmental problem and to be able to explain its concept with appropriate examples. Competency Development: Global Awareness, Knowledge on Science and Technology |

Prerequisites |
In addition to 30 hours in the classes and 60 hours required for preparation of a course work, students are recommended to prepare for and review the classes, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University. |

Assessment/Grading |
In principle, grades will be given relying on the performance of two assigned papers.(100%) The topic of each assignment will be provided in class. |
