Course description |
In these lectures, the instructor will give the basic knowledge of the origin and structure of the Earth, Plate Tectonics theory, the evolutionary history of organisms, and environmental changes. They are the basis for present-day environmental issues. The lectures will be given by the use of texts and multimedia, with the latest results of scientific researches on the Earth. The relationships among the Earth Science phenomena will be understood by attending students to have a perspective of the future world. Class code: 2et5zzd |
Expected Learning |
1. Understand the origin and structure of the planet Earth and process geological history. 2. Understand the evolution of organisms and is relationships with environmental change. 3. Correctly understand the mechanism of environmental changes in the Earth, to have a perspective of the future of the planet. |

Message from instructor(s) |
Basic scientific knowledge is the basis for an understanding of the natural environments surrounding us, such as global warming and natural hazards. The lecture will be given with examples of Earth phenomena close to us, by plain words, avoiding specialized terminologies. You will understand the phenomena from the viewpoint of your major. |
Course keywords |
Origin of the Earth, Plate Tectonics, Change of Earth Environments, Origin and evolution of Organisms, Natural Hazards, Mineral Resources, and fossil fuel. |
Office hours |
After each lesson, answer questions in the classroom. |
Remarks 1 |
This course is taught by a part-time lecturer. Once the employment of the part-time lecturer is confirmed, this syllabus may be modified. In this case, the official version is the modified syllabus. |
