Course description
Students will learn about the basics of immunology, and the recent findings. I addition we wil discuss the immune system in relation to cancer and allergy.
In the second part (Antibody Engineering) industrial applications of proteins involved in immunity will be discussed. The aim of this lecture is to understand the structure, function and diversity of proteins involved in immunity especially antibodies, and also to learn how these molecules have been successfully applied as molecular target drugs.

1) Understanding the basics of immunology
2) understanding the structure, function and diversity of antibodies, cytokines, and explain how to obtain them.
3) explain correctly the engineering application examples of protein involved in immunity.

Lecture 7:Immune Response and Disease: Allergy, autoimmune response, cancer

Antibody Engineering:
Lecture 8: Structure, function, and preparation of antibodies

Lecture 9: Antibody engineering - humanized antibodies, catalytic antibodies and so on-

Lecture 10: Immunoengineering - chimeric antigen receptors, modified cytokines and so on-

Lecture 11: Fragment antibodies and antibody-like molecules

Lecture 12: Conjugate antibodies and fusion antibodies

Lecture 13: Development of bispecific antibodies

Lecture 14: Development of next-generation cancer therapeutic antibodies
