Course description |
This course covers the fundamentals and applications of image acquisition, processing, and analysis using light. In this lecture, students will learn the basics and usage of light sources and detectors necessary for image acquisition, and microscopes essential for observation of microscopic objects. The course will also provide students with basic knowledge of image processing and analysis methods according to the purpose of image acquisition, and will demonstrate actual applications to improve the level of understanding. |
Expected Learning |
In this course, students learn the knowledge to acquire images by using imaging sensors and lenses. The goal of this course is to obtain the skills to appropriately process images taken by digital cameras and microscopes. |
Course schedule |
Since taking pictures with smartphones and digital cameras is an everyday occurrence in today's society, the software aspects of data composition and processing methods of captured digital images will be described, and details of hardware aspects such as light sources and cameras suitable for the purpose of photography and applied technologies utilizing these will be explained. |
