Course description |
This class provides the series of lectures of the research topics by the member of bioregulation and biointeraction program with “application of research findings to plant protection” in mind. |
Expected Learning |
To acquire knowledge on growth control of organisms (plants, insects, microorganisms, viruses etc.) in agricultural production, interactions between organisms and ecology. Course schedule |
The lecture will be an intensive two-day course. Those unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts are encouraged to consider attending the following year's course. The schedule is currently being worked out. The following omnibus lectures will be given. [Day 1] 2nd hour: Current status of plant protection science research, Mechanisms of phytoalexin-mediated disease and stress responses in plants. 3rd hour: Physiology of microorganisms and their interactions with plants (I) 4th hour: Microbial physiology and plant-plant interaction (II) [Day 2] 1st hour: Approaches to plant protection from insect physiology and applied entomology 2nd hour: Plant growth control 3rd hour: Insect ecology and regulation of insect physiology (I) Introduction and current status 4thhour: : Insect ecology and regulation of insect physiology (II) Future development and future plan |
Prerequisites |
In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below. |
