Basics and latest topics of biology and chemistry relevant to materials cycle and environmental sciences are lectured.

Course schedule
This class is the omnibus style lecture conducted by the instructors. Details of the contents of the class for each instructor will be shown below. The schedule for each teacher is tentative and will be finalized at the time of guidance.

1st. (Oct. 4) Guidance

2nd. (Oct. 18) Matsuda Kazuhide:
International cooperation on atmospheric environment issues in East Asia

3rd. (Oct. 25) Ohji Madoka:
Behavior and effects of xenobiotics, especially antifouling biocides, on marine ecosystem are lectured.

4th. (Nov. 8) Takada Hideshige:
To provide information about plastic-mediated exposure of hazardous chemicals and the impact to human.

5th. (Nov. 22) Watanabe Makoto:
To give a review on eco-physiological response of trees to tropospheric ozone as an air pollutant.

6th. (Nov. 29) Mizukawa Kaoruko:
Environmental pollution of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and its standard values will be outlined.

Prerequisites
Students need to preview and review for an amount of time as indicated in the student guidelines of TUAT, in addition to the attendance of lecture (15 hours).
