Course description

Toward the master thesis in the curriculum, students do their researches.

Expected Learning

Students will be able to: 1. Write theses to explain thier researches to a broad readership. 2. Make scientific oral presentaion about their researches. Corresponding criteria in the Diploma Policy: See the Curriculum maps.

1. Introduction to how to write a master thesis 2. How to make a research plan for the thesis 3. Research planning for the thesis 4. Revision of the plan 5. Preparation for experiment (1): existing apparatus 6. Preparation for experiment (2): new apparatus 7. Experiment (1): Optimization of experimental conditions 8. Experiment (2): Data acquisition 9. Experiment (3): Summary 10. Report on the results 11. Discussion on the results 12. Writing an abstract of the thesis 13. Writing a thesis 14. Preparation for the presentation 15. Prerequisites

Students are recommended to prepare for and revise their research subjects, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the handouts as well as the references specified below.
