Course description
This course provides students with the fundamentals of energy engineering. It address the various energy forms, such as light energy, chemical energy, thermal energy, electric energy, kinetic energy, and potential energy, from the perspective of energy engineering. Students will study about energy conversion technology and its principle.
This course corresponds to the specialized fundamental courses of the curriculum of the Department of Bio-Functions and Systems Science.
Expected Learning
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- acquire knowledge to understand "Energy" and "Power",
- recognize various forms of energy,
- calculate environmental loads from energy consumption.

Assessment/Grading
The grade evaluation in this class is premised on all attendances, and comprehensively evaluates the attitude to learn, quizzes, report, and tests. Standard study time set by the our university is required to get the grade.

The rate of evaluation is as follows:
- Quizzes at each lesson(40%),
- Regular examination (60%).

Grade will be given according to the following criteria by comprehensive evaluation:
- S: 90 points or more,
- A: 80 or more and less than 90 points,
- B: 70 or more and less than 80 points,
- C: 60 or more and less than 70 points.
