Course description |
In life science researches, ultra-high sensitive measurements such as single-cell and single-molecule technologies and high-throughput evaluation tools such as DNA microarray and flow cytometry have become common technologies. Although these are supported by various technologies, in this course, learners will learn about micro chemical chips that are one of them. This course will provide you with the basic knowledge about the micro chemical chips especially microfluidic devices. |
Expected Learning |
Learners who complete this course will be able to understand the fundamentals and features of micro chemical chips used in life science researches. See the Curriculum maps. |
Course schedule |
1. Introduction to micro chemical chips 2. Microfabrication techniques 3. DNA chip 4. Microwell array 5. Microchannel 6. Underlying technologies 7. Surface modification 8. Demonstration and practical exercises |
Prerequisites |
Students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University. |
Required Text(s) and Materials |
No textbook is specified. Printed or electronic materials will be provided as needed during the courses, but students need to bring a notebook. |
