Course description

Physiology and cultivation environment of horticultural crops is important for its production. This lecture focuses on the fruit crops, and explains physiology and environmental controls for the cultivation. The latest studies about fruit physiology and environmental controls for the fruit production will also be explained in this lecture.

Expected Learning

・Understanding and explaining the carbohydrate metabolisms, and incidence of physiological disorders of fruit crops.
・Understanding and explaining the physiology of horticultural crops and environmental controls for the crop production.

Course schedule

1. Physiology of flowering and fruit setting
2. Physiology of fruit growth
3. Incidence of physiological disorder
4. Physiology and environmental controls for the fruit production

Prerequisites

Total 22.5 hours of studies are required including 7.5 hours of lecture.
