July, 1, 2022 (Fri) 10:00 -　Face to Face　or Hybrid The 2nd meeting room, 4th floor, Main building of United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, TUAT ・ The 2nd meeting room, 4th floor, Main building of United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, TUAT (Hybrid classes, but not on-demand) ・ 「Basic and applied aspects of animal cell culture」 Animal cell culture is one of important techniques in life sciences. In this lecture, both basic and applied aspects of animal cell culture techniques will be introduced. The recent developments of cell therapy techniques will be also explained. Assay systems for the screening of functional food factors using cultured animal cells are discussed based on our research results. ・ This class is designed to acquire advanced expertise in the field of animal cell engineering by learning the latest knowledge and technology in agriculture. ・ The lesson format is lecture-centric.

Expected Learning

・ Ability to explain the basics of animal cell culture techniques. ・ Ability to explain the applications of cultured animal cells. ・ Ability to discuss the possibilities of animal cell culture techniques in other fields. ・ Please refer to the curriculum map of the course guide for the correspondence between the contents of this lecture and the diploma policy of this course.

・ History of animal cell culture. ・ Cultured animal cells as a platform of recombinant protein production. ・ The possibilities of animal cell therapy ・ Assay systems for functional food factors using cultured cells.

Prerequisites

Class time is 7.5 hours. It will take few hours to create report. By referring to distributed lecture materials, you need to review the class according to the standard time indicated by the university.
