Course description
・This course will be held online, from 10:00 AM on November 29, 2022.

・The present course will provide basic information on the effects of
environmental stresses such as air pollutants on plants (trees and
crops). Based on the information, we will discuss about sustainable
options for the solution of plant preservation problems.

・This course is launch for getting advanced professional development in
the field of Symbiotic Science of Environment and natural Resources with
learning novel knowledge and technology in environmental and
agricultural sciences.

・This course is lecture style basically. Several discussions related
the topics will be hold during the lecture.
Expected Learning
・Understanding of the relationship between forest decline and
environmental stresses.
・Understanding of the effects of acid deposition on plants.
・Understanding of the effects of ozone (O3) on plants.
・Understanding of the effects of aerosol (PM2.5) on plants.

Based on above understanding, sustainable options for the solution of plant preservation problems can be discussed.

Course schedule
We will discuss about the following topics.

1. The relationship between forest decline in Japan and environmental
stresses

2. the effects of acid deposition on plants

3. the effects of ozone (O3) on plants

4. the effects of aerosol (PM2.5) on plants

5. Sustainable options for the solution of plant preservation problems
Prerequisites
Students need to preview and review for an amount of time as indicated in the student guidelines of TUAT, in addition to the attendance of lecture (7.5 hours).
