Course description |
Visit the many museums and learn about the operation of the museum and the actual conditions of the curator's work. In addition, we handle museum materials and perform from planning of exhibition to setting up. A series of processes will be conducted in the in-school training. In addition, we will deepen the understanding of the museum through the on-site experience of the practice at the museum in the museum on campus. |

Curators are sometimes referred to as miscellaneous workers, and their work is so diverse that they require various qualities and know-how. First, it is required to understand the actual circumstance of museum management and curatorial work by visit various museums. Second, it is needed to learn a series of processes during exhibition planning through training the object handling related in basic knowledge and skills. Finally, it is asked that deepen the comprehension of museum management and curatorial work inside actual museum. The functions of curator are so variable, and their work is asked plenty of experiences. Students will understand the fact of museum management and curatorial work from both theoretical and practical via experiential learning. Additionally, their practical skills as curators will be developed through real experience in museums. |
