Course description |
To understand how to evaluate ecosystem damage by wildlife, to prevent forestry damage, to monitor the population and distribution of wildlife, which are necessary for forest conservation and the central issues for wildlife management, practice on sites. |
Expected Learning |
Students need to gain ability as follows: ① Understand the damage caused to forest ecosystems by wildlife. ② Understand the damage to forestry by each wildlife species and how to prevent it. ③ Understand the monitoring methods for deer population trends. |

Prerequisites |
Students need to complete the Special Lecture on Agriculture II “Wildlife Conservation and Management; Wildlife Damage Management. Students also need to get the accident and the compensation insurances. |

Remarks 1 |
1) This exercise on sites will be carried out at two days and one night (October 7-8, 2023) at FM Kusaki, Gunnma Prefecture, (Students need to pay the transportation and accommodation fees). After the exercise, the survey results were summarized and presented at the university. 2) The applicant survey will be done at the classroom. If the applicants are over the capacity, the participants will be decided by lottery. 3) Details are shown in the guidance through the classroom. |
