Course description
As an applied veterinary medicine, the course will provide an understanding of the role of veterinarians in the field of public and animal health. In recent years, various problems related to livestock hygiene and public health have arisen that threaten food safety and security, such as outbreaks of infectious diseases in livestock such as foot-and-mouth disease, swine fever, and highly pathogenic chicken flu, detection of residues of pesticides and other chemicals exceeding food standards, and food poisoning caused by Shiga-toxin producing E. coli and other bacteria.
On the other hand, there is a shortage of new veterinarians with practical skills in the fields of livestock hygiene and public health, and the training of veterinarians capable of dealing with these problems is an urgent issue.
Therefore, this program provides students with the opportunity to experience work at livestock hygiene and public health clinics, meat inspection stations, public health centers, public health laboratories, and national and independent administrative laboratories and inspection stations.
Expected Learning
To understand the role of veterinarians in the field of veterinary hygiene and public health through direct contact with some of the activities of veterinarians in society at livestock health clinics, meat inspection stations, public health centers, and national and independent administrative research institutes and laboratories.

Please refer to the curriculum map on the University's website (three policies).
