Course description |
Based on elementary grammar and reading, this course is designed to develop a higher level of proficiency in translation or written communication. Emphasis is on intercultural Understanding in German. This course is offered to advance students' intercultural understanding applying the knowledge and skills acquired in German I and II. Students are requested to take "German Ⅰ・Ⅱ" . Text of grammar and dictionary are needed. Students are recommended to spend 45 minutes in preparing for each class, and another 45 minutes in completing assignments and revising the class. |

Assessment/Grading |
Grade evaluation is premised on attendance in all classes. Participation in the class, short tests and assignments, and the final exam will all be taken into consideration to determine the overall grade. Credit will be granted for academic achievement according to the standards set by the university. Overall evaluation is structured as follows: Report (60%):to asses German reading and writing ability based on basic grammar from German I and II, as well as intermediate grammar from this course. Assignments (20%) Class participation (20%): Class attendance and communication expression ability making sentences parallel to the class materials is evaluated. Based on the overall assessment, credit will be granted with the following evaluations: S: 90 points or higher A:80 points or higher, less than 90 points B:70 points or higher, less than 80 points C:60 points or higher, less than 70 points C:less than 60 points |
