Course description
Overview:
The overall title of the intensive course is "DX Practices in Business Management" and will focus broadly on business management and its various issues using digital technology. The lecture will be interactive, with time for questions and student discussions.
The intensive course will consist of two sessions over four days.

Class Contents:
Session 1: "General Guidance and Current Status of Japanese Companies
Session 2: "Overview of Digital Technology and DX
I will give an outline and purpose of this intensive lecture, outline the current situation of Japanese companies as a background to tackle the use of digital technology and share my own awareness of the issues. In addition, as a basic knowledge of the entire lecture, I will provide an overview of basic keywords such as AI, IoT, and Big Data and organize related current issues. In addition, an overview of DX (Digital Transformation), which has become a common theme in all companies, will be explained.

Session 3: "DX Practice in Enterprises (1)" by outside lecturers (Mr. Sohei and Mr. Mukai)
Session 4: "Practice of DX in Companies (2)" by outside lecturers (Dr. Sohei and Dr. Mukai)
Specific examples of how digital technology is used to upgrade existing businesses and create new businesses under the theme of "How DX is practiced in corporate management. Design of necessary organizations and processes. Learn about securing and training human resources to promote the project.
External lecturers will be invited and will be in charge of the program. All external lecturers have abundant practical experience as a member of a company's management team or a start-up, so that the contents will provide information on the real situation in a company.

Session 5: "IT and DX Strategies (1)
Session 6: "IT and DX Strategies (2)
This session will provide an overview of the gradual shift in the use of digital technology in corporate management, from improving the efficiency of existing operations to creating new businesses. It will introduce specific examples from various companies.

Part 7: "Challenges in DX Promotion in Japanese Companies
Session 8: "Direction to aim for (strategy, business, organization, and human resources)
In addition to summarizing the content of the previous lectures, the issues related to DX promotion in Japanese companies will be outlined, and the necessary measures to improve Japan's international competitiveness through the power of digital technology will be explained from the perspectives of strategy, operations, organization, human resources, and others.

Assessment/Grading
(1) Grading will be based on class participation (class participation), assignment reports, etc., and credits will be awarded when the standardized learning effectiveness set by the university is recognized.
 Grades will be based on 40% regular points, 30% group presentations, and 30% assignment reports.
Grading is based on a 5-point system: S: 90 points or above, A: 80 points or above and less than 90 points, B: 70 points or above and less than 80 points,
C: 60 points or above and less than 70 points, D: Less than 60%
Grades will not be given to students whose attendance rate is less than 70%, but attendance alone is not considered class participation.
