Course description

Physics and Chemistry are essential tools to understand various phenomena. In this lecture, several topics on how Physics and Chemistry are used in actual researches are reviewed. Latest research examples are introduced.
We learn relations between lectures in our department and their meanings to society.
Expected Learning

Course schedule
This lecture is omnibus style by 12 professors
In the first lecture, a detailed schedule and a list of professors will be provided.

1st: Introduction, Importance in learning Physics and Chemistry, Physics and Chemistry in practical products.
2nd - 7th: Latest research topics by each professor
8th: Interview/Reporting
9th - 14th: Latest research topics by each professor
15th: Interview/Reporting
Prerequisites
This is a required course in Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engieering.
In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare fro and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the web pages of the 12 professors.

The grade evaluation in this class is premised on all attendances, and comprehensively evaluates the attitude to learn, quizzes, report, and tests. Standard study time set by the our university is required to get the grade.

The rate of evaluation is as follows:
- Class contribution (every class) (20%),
- Reporting or other assignments (80%),
We evaluate all reports and assignments. Delay or absence will decrease your grade points.

Grade will be given according to the following criteria by comprehensive evaluation:
- S: 90 points or more,
- A: 80 or more and less than 90 points,
- B: 70 or more and less than 80 points,
- C: 60 or more and less than 70 points.
