Course description
Aims:
Students will learn the theory and research methods for ecosystem conservation based on biodiversity conservation, and landscape ecology.
Outline:
This course provides students with practical exercises, particularly focusing on statistical analyses on field-obtained data of plants, insects and animals.

Expected Learning
Students are required to gain knowledge of biodiversity conservation and landscape ecology. And you need to gain ability to apply it to actual conservation planning.

Prerequisites
This lecture is an elective subject, and is one of the specialized subjects.
The students are required to have basic knowledge of ecology, biodiversity conservation, and landscape ecology.
Students need to preview and review for an amount of time as indicated in the student guidelines of TUAT, in addition to the attendance of lecture (30 ours).

Akasaka class: students are required to have basic knowledge on generalized linear models. Ordination analyses, and programming in R environment. Students are required to take ‘Exercise for Methods of Agricultural Experimental design and Statistical Analysis I’ which is offered in the same semester. This class is partially intensive, participants must attend the first lecture (introduction).
