Course description |
Students will learn presentations in foreign languages and improve their international communication skills by attending conferences or symposiums related to their own research held overseas for a total of at least three days (including web participation), presenting their research, attending presentations by outstanding researchers, and participating in question-and-answer sessions. This is one of the Advanced Practice Courses. |
Expected Learning |
The objective of this course is to form a foundation for internationally active veterinarians and researchers, and to be able to prepare presentations, present research, and answer questions in foreign languages. Preparation of conference abstracts in foreign languages and procedures for participation in the conference Preparation of presentations and manuscripts in foreign languages Conducting presentations in a foreign language and answering questions Conducting presentations in a foreign language and answering questions Question and answer session for others' presentations in a foreign language After the conference, students will write a report reflecting on their experiences and considering how they can incorporate the content into their own research. |
Prerequisites |
Elective Compulsory Course n order to achieve the achievement standards, students must prepare in advance, make a presentation, and reflect on the presentation afterwards, and secure study time equivalent to the standard number of hours required by the University. In the case of a one-day conference, credit can be granted by attending and presenting at more than one conference (15 hours or more in total). In such cases, students must complete registration procedures for each conference they attend. |

Assessment/Grading |
The supervisor will evaluate the student's advance preparation for the conference presentation, completion of presentation materials and manuscript, questions and answers about his/her own presentation and others' research presentations, participation attitude, reports, etc. |

Remarks 1 |
Only presentations made by the student, regardless of whether it is a single or joint presentation. Language and presentation format (poster or oral) are not required. Course registration is accepted at any time at the Educational Office by submitting the registration form. Students who are scheduled to complete their studies in March must submit the form by the end of January, and those who are scheduled to complete in September must submit it by the end of July. Credit will be granted for up to one credit during the period of enrollment. |
