The aim of this class is to obtain knowledge about second language acquisition studies and apply the knowledge to your practices through English. ※Please attend the orientation which will be held at the first class if you plan to register the course. |

Course schedule |
The details will be given in the first class, so you must not miss the 1st class. In addition, this class will give you resources and strategies for improving your English, based on theoretical framework of Second Language Acquisition study. The following is the plans of the classes, but the contents will be varied. 1. Introduction 2. What does "critical" mean? 3. Critical Reading (1) -critical choice- 4. Critical Reading (2) -opinion or argument- 5. Critical Reading (3) -five critical synopsis questions- 6. Introduction to Second Language Acquisition Study 7. Critical Writing (1) -how to be self-critical writer- 8. Critical Writing (2) -critical summary- 9. Exploration of Second Language Acquisition Study 10. The mechanics of academic presentation -shock presentation- 11. Critical Writing to Presentation (1) -pre-writing activities- 12. Critical Writing to Presentation (2) -writing draft- 13. Prerequisites |
In addition to 30 hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and review the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts as well as the references specified below. |
