Course description
Accounting is the foundation of business management, providing material for investment and management decisions, as well as a means of providing information to external users. Assuming that students have not studied accounting in detail before, the course will cover such areas as basic accounting knowledge, how to read financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements, financial analysis, and the fundamentals of management accounting. The focus is on business management and administration using accounting, not on training accountants.
The course will combine prior learning based on handouts, textbooks, lectures, case studies, and exercises.
This course is taught by faculty members with practical experience. It is intended to familiarize students with basic-level accounting knowledge and methods from the perspective of how accounting is used in practice.

Message from instructor(s)
Once I studied law and economics at university and started working for a company, I did not have much use for those knowledge. Rather, accounting, which I studied out of necessity after I started working, has been useful to this day. I majored in Finance/Accounting at an American business school, and I believe that mastery of those basic concepts is important for both corporate management and entrepreneurship.
