Course description |
Practical training in methods of obtaining public funds for the preparation of research project proposals. In particular, to be able to prepare proposals based on the institutional purpose of research funds and industrial and scientific technology policies, students will attend competitive funding briefings and organize key points, and develop the ability to compile them into a research funding proposal. |

1st Orientation (2) Research proposal planning 3rd Research budget planning 4th~13th Report on the writing status of application documents (Students will conduct research on their own application documents under the guidance of their supervisor, report on their progress, conduct literature review, make presentations, and hold discussions. They will develop their research independently by making use of guidance and advice from other researchers.) 14th Preliminary presentation 15th Final presentation (The order may be changed depending on the progress of the students.) The following items should be included in the research presentation and report. Relevance to the Grant Proposal and the applicant's own research theme Characteristics of the research/techniques Comparison of the level of research Research results and impact (e.g., industrial value of technology, future development) Research results and impact (e.g., industrial value of technology, future development) Research plan and resources |
Prerequisites |
In addition to the time required to conduct the seminar and prepare for it, self-study equivalent to the standard number of hours at the University is required. In addition to the practitioner faculty member who will serve as the primary reviewer, a full-time faculty member in the area of technology development will serve as a secondary reviewer. The student will complete a specific budget application/proposal. However, the size of the budget and the timing of the application are not required. The report should include the motivation for the application, the funding agency for the application, and the policy of the proposal. The applicant is required to prepare a report and to make a presentation in the department (twice a year). The style of the report should follow the instructions of the supervising professor. |

Assessment/Grading |
The final report and presentation (60%), materials, presentation, and discussion in seminars (20%), and attitude toward them in daily life (20%) will be judged. |
