Course description
The instructor and the student will discuss about a field which is different from the research topic and determine the case study based on survey and then write a report and make a presentation about the determined topic.
Students have to submit the review reports, perform presentations, and answer questions about the given topic based on engineering knowledge.

This course is compulsive for Doctor course students, and recommended to complete in Year-1.
*Language is depend on the decision by the instructor.
Expected Learning
1) develop the ability to conduct literature review about the topics in the field different from the students’ research topics of their doctoral programs
2) develop the knowledge about the topics in the field different from the students’ research topics of their doctoral programs
3) generalize the method or strategy about the topics which is not in their own speciality

Course schedule
1) Selected topics fixed through the discussion with supervisor will be reviewed by literatures, conferences, and exhibitions.
2) the progress of the review will be reported periodically to the supervisor to deepen the understanding for the selected topics,
3) final report will be submitted including the research trends, research methods and prospect for the selected topics
4) final presentation and discussion will be conducted based on the final report
Prerequisites
Consultation with the faculty adviser is necessary.

In addition to standard activity hours that students spend in the class, students are recommended to prepare for and revise the lectures, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University and using the lecture handouts
