Monday, January 15, 2024, 10:00- Hybrid Course Room 2N404, 4th floor, Building 2, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Plants in the natural world coexist with various microorganisms. For sustainable agricultural production, it is necessary to make the most of microbial functions that support the healthy growth of plants. The purpose of this lecture is to provide a scientific understanding of the ecology of microorganisms that coexist with plants, the mechanism of symbiosis with plants, and how this is linked to agricultural production and environmental remediation technology. |
Expected Learning |
(1) To be able to fully understand advanced research on the use of microorganisms in agriculture, and be able to explain it in your own words. (2) To be able to make concrete proposals for the future development of microbial inoculants and how to use microorganisms in agriculture. |
Course schedule |
(1) Learn about the history of microbiology, types of microorganisms, and research methods for microorganisms. (2) Learn about microorganisms that live symbiotically with plants. (3) Learn about the use of microorganisms in agriculture. Depending on the progress of the class, the contents of the class may be revised. |
