Course description
This lecture provides systematic knowledge and examples of information and media produced and used in museums. It also looks at the museum's own role as a media outlet for society.
 Specifically, it begins with the relationship between information and media and museum operations, and the role of information and media in each operational situation.

Expected Learning
Understand the importance and positioning of 'information' in museums as one of the social educational institutions of the information society.
- Understand the importance of the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and the dissemination of information in museums.
- Acquire a basic knowledge of issues related to the use of ICT and respect for intellectual property rights.
- Acquire the latest information and knowledge on cooperation with other social education institutions (libraries, archives, etc.) using ICT.
- Consider, through discussion, the positioning of museums and other socio-educational institutions in relation to the information society and local cultural resources.
- Understand specific methods of ICT use and information dissemination in museums with reference to specific case studies.

Message from instructor(s)
The involvement of information and media in the development of museum activities has increased over the years. I would like the participants to understand the role of information and media in the overall work of the museum. We would also like to discuss with them on the basis of insights gained through actual museum visits.
