概要 |
The purpose of this course is to prepare students to effectively communicate with other researchers and scientists in English. Students will also focus on learning basic strategies for debating and participating in lively academic discussions. |

In order this course, students are expected to: 1. Attend regularly and participate actively in class activities. 2. Acquire knowledge of communication strategies covered in the course. 3. Demonstrate ability in joining and leading group discussions. 4. Successfully complete all written assignments. |

Supporting opinions; Types of support; Giving supports; Building a case study 6. Leading an academic discussion: Discussion Summary 1; Building a case study; Case Study assignment guidelines 7. Case Study writing format; In-text citations and making a reference list 8. Case Study writing and instructor feedback 9. Case Study presentations and submission; Discussion Summary 2 assignment guidelines 10. Group discussion activity 11. 履修条件・関連項目 |
This elective course carries 2 credits. In addition to the 30 hours that students spend in the class, they are recommended to prepare for, and review, the classes using the textbook stated below, spending the standard amount of time as specified by the University for each class. Students must attend at least 2/3 of a course in order to receive credit for that course. If students do not fully attend the class for two times, it will be counted as one time of absence. |
